CB PRODUCTIONS THEATRE NEWS and UPDATES AUDITIONS for CB PRODUCTIONS Spring 2012 production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream By William Shakespeare -WHO CAN AUDITION: -HOW TO AUDITION: 2. Read or listen to the play (this is a requirement!) and understand the characters and the events BEFORE coming to the audition. 3. Print, memorize, block and rehearse ALL THREE monologues listed for your gender. (Don’t worry they are short. Please note that BOTH GENDERS are to work up the PUCK monologue). Work on this well in advance so you are prepared. This reflects how hard you will work if cast. Monologue Link 4. Make sure you know where the monologues are in the play so you understand the scene. Use resources such as NO FEAR SHAKESPEARE or any other books that will help you to understand what the character is saying. Look up all words that you do not understand. 5. Go online and read some character summaries to get a good understanding of who the characters are. 6. Arrive at auditions 10 minutes early to fill out the necessary forms and come with a list of any conflicts you may have during the rehearsal period. 7. Bring your resume if you have one AND know your email address and wear comfortable clothes, shoes and pull your hair out of your face AUDITION DETAILS: THE REHEARSAL AND PERFORMANCE SCHEDULE: The cast will consist of approximately 17-24 actors who must be able to play realistic characters and are willing and able to work to create a tight ensemble.
