CB PRODUCTIONS THEATRE NEWS and UPDATES

AUDITIONS for CB PRODUCTIONS Spring 2012 production of

A Midsummer Night’s Dream

By William Shakespeare

-WHO CAN AUDITION:
Students (ages 13 and up) who have completed a FULL YEAR of LEVEL I ACTING with CB Productions (or have been invited by Carla Barwineck).

-HOW TO AUDITION:
1. YOU MUST EMAIL carla@cbproductions.org to reserve the day you wish to audition November 28 or December 1, 2011.
Do this soon to assure a space.

2. Read or listen to the play (this is a requirement!) and understand the characters and the events BEFORE coming to the audition.

3. Print, memorize, block and rehearse ALL THREE monologues listed for your gender. (Don’t worry they are short. Please note that BOTH GENDERS are to work up the PUCK monologue). Work on this well in advance so you are prepared. This reflects how hard you will work if cast. Monologue Link

4. Make sure you know where the monologues are in the play so you understand the scene. Use resources such as NO FEAR SHAKESPEARE or any other books that will help you to understand what the character is saying. Look up all words that you do not understand.

5. Go online and read some character summaries to get a good understanding of who the characters are.

6. Arrive at auditions 10 minutes early to fill out the necessary forms and come with a list of any conflicts you may have during the rehearsal period.

7. Bring your resume if you have one AND know your email address and wear comfortable clothes, shoes and pull your hair out of your face

AUDITION DETAILS:
You can choose to audition Monday, November 28, 6:00-9:00 OR Thursday, December 1, 6:00-9:00, but plan on staying the FULL THREE HOURS for your audition. All auditions are held at Bethany Baptist Church. You MUST reserve your auditions spot. You may be asked to come to a second audition (callbacks) on Friday, December 2, 5:30-9:00, so keep this date available also.
